Dear Ken,

Our 2001 Honda Odyssey developed a fault in the electric right sliding passenger door when stopping at a restroom on a trip from Portland,OR, to Spokane, WA, the week before New Year's Day. We thought this was caused by going through the Columbia River Gorge when the roads were iced up and dirty with snow, gravel and sand. The electric door wouldn't work at all, and wouldn't latch tightly. We were able to push it closed enough to travel. This meant alarms went off when put the car in gear. We were able to overcome the alarm noise by using some switches. After arriving in Spokane, We called Pete's garage because we had been serviced by the company several years ago. We found out there was a new owner. The new owners are every bit as technically qualified and helpful as the prior owners. Ken was sure he could repair the problem when contacted on the phone. We took the car there and he did get the door operating again in minutes. He described what was the problem and how I could "repair" the problem myself, if it should happen again. Further, he printed out a four-page repair sheet, with his written instructions, for me to take away. Ken also gave me an estimate for replacing the faulty switches that have been upgraded on later versions of the Odyssey. I probably will have him do those replacements when visiting in Spokane later this year. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU HAD SUCH AN EXPERIENCE ? -- Gerald L. Portland, OR

11/10/09 - Honest (yes, honest) & Sincere Service

We have an old Honda, wasn't sure it was worth working on. "Pete's" (Ken) thought it was.  The repairs were very reasonable.  He didn't try to upsell us.  Gave us every option and even did a couple extras we didn't expect and came within his estimate.  If you own a Honda, you should be taking it there for service! -- Luci

8/7/09 - Happy Customer

I took my 1977 Accord in to Ken.  I tried everything to fix it myself.  He said it would be an hour shop charge to tell me what it needed.  sounded reasonable.  He worked on it and took the carburetor apart and found it needed to be replaced.  I told him I am unemployed at the moment and when I can afford a new carb. I'll have the repairs done.  He didn't charge me a dime and even let me keep the car there for a few days until I could arrange to tow it back home.  Needless to say, when I get the money for the repairs my Honda is going back to Pete's.  We need more repair shop owners like Ken. -- Bob in Spokane

1/5/2010 - Great Shop!!!

My car would not start one day and I did all the problem solving I could.  I called Pete's Honda, first visit, and explained to Ken, I think it was, and he said I could have it towed in and he would take a look at it.  So, with the car there.....Naturally, it started right up.  He went out many times and started right up.  Well, he kept it overnight and started it right up in the morning.  He did not say "Come and get it....." He called me back with a PLAN.  He ASKED if he could unhook the alarm system that was old and not functioning well and going into VALET.  He did, and have not had a problem since.  He was nice, kind, polite and very economical.  I am really impressed.  I met two very talented mechanics that day.  I am going back for new brakes, and I would highly recommend Petes Honda Repair.  I'm sold.  Here is the clincher...I was not even using the alarm at the time...He removed the fuse.  He very carefully diagnosed my car to the fullest.  Thanks Pete's! -- Colleen

8/16/2010 - 1992 honda accord

Just wanted to write to say how much I appreciate Pete's Honda.  My car recently broke down on a trip and I value Ken's knowledge of my car, his service standards and value so much, I had it towed all the way back to Spokane rather than risk having it worked on by someone else in the TriCities.    Earlier this year, Ken did a repair for me in 4 hours that both actual Honda dealers in the area would have charged me more for and couldn't have gotten me out same day.  This is especially surprising given Ken's commitment to using Honda parts as much as possible.   Wish all service providers operated this way.
